Customer Review: I got compliments on my coffee
Summary: 3 Stars

I used this once for a party and got compliments on the coffee. So I guess it's good. It takes a long time to brew (maybe 45 minutes for a full pot). That means that if you run out in the middle of a party, there will be no more coffee for a while. But I suppose that is true for all of these.
So I would have given this 4 or 5 stars but the listing is deceptive: It doesn't make 42 cups. It makes 42 "five-ounce cups." A cup is not five ounces; it is eight. It's not debatable; it's definitional. At the very minimum, West Bend or Amazon should have disclosed the fact that it is 42 small servings. Basically, the manufacturer lied about the capacity; it actually is around 26 true cups. Maybe they all do it (I have not researched that), but regardless, it is deceptive and wrong.

Customer Review: Just what we wanted
Summary: 5 Stars

The local YMCA needed a pot to warm water for hot chocolate for the after school crowd. They were using a microwave to heat one cup at a time. This product was inexpensive, just the right size, Made in the USA, and worked perfectly right out of the box. It was easy to order and arrived within a week. Instead of a used pot, we seniors were able to donate a lovely new one for just a few dollars apiece, and the young man in charge of the hot chocolate was thrilled! A win/win situation all the way around.

Customer Review: Makes Great Coffee
Summary: 5 Stars

I am pretty particular about coffee. I like to gind my own beans and have never used a perc coffee pot in the past. But we were having a huge family gathering and I needed a lot of coffee.

I ordered this Party Perk machine and when it came in I almost returned it because it seemed so flimsy, but I figured I'd give it a chance.

I'm glad I did. All the information I read on the Internet about coffee said that perc'd coffee is not very good because the water is boiled and constantly recirculated through the grounds and this does not equate to how to achieve the best tasting coffee.

Well, while this was not the BEST coffee I have ever had, the coffee was none-the-less very good. I used Berkley and Jensen ground coffee (available at BJ's Wholesale club)and I could not have been more pleased with the results from this Party Perk. I used a little more than 2-1/2 cups of ground coffee for the full 42 cups and the information I read about expecting the pot to brew the coffee at one cup per minute seemed pretty accurate.

There were a lot of compliments on how good the coffee tasted. It did not taste burned, even after being kept warmed in the pot for a few hours.

I cannot comment on the durability of the machine as I haven't had it that long. My parents saw this pot and remarked that they had the same one for many many years before they gave it away and never had the first bit of trouble with it.

Customer Review: Owned a Delonghi and this is MUCH better for less money-it actually works!
Summary: 5 Stars

The Delonghi was beautiful but only worked one time. Piece of junk.
This party perk is not as pretty, very basic but it works and keeps coffee fresh a long time. I made coffee for my superbowl party at 10am and it was still yummy at 9pm.
