The item does work.
It could be improved.
(1) Permanently-attached cord is too short being a little over 2 feet long. It barely reaches from a standard table top down to the standard height electrical outlet.
(2) An ON/OFF switch would really be nice.
Description of West Bend 59055 60-Cup Commercial Coffee Urn, Stainless Steel
Designed for buffet tables, offices, churces, break rooms, lounges and cafes. Durable, highly polished stainless steel construction including the basket and stem. Interior water level markings make coffee-making easy. Cup per minute brewing with automatic temperature control to keep coffee hot and ready to serve for hours. Twist to secure cover and heat resistant base and trim for added safety. Ready light indicates end of brewing cycle. Power light glows to indicate urn is on.For high-volume coffee production, it doesn't make sense to run multiple pots through a standard drip-filter coffee maker. It's much more efficient to make one large pot that will serve a multitude. This West Bend coffee maker will produce 60 cups of coffee and keep it warm and tasty, without the "toasting" effect that occurs when coffee cooks down in a glass pot on a warming burner. Made of professional-grade stainless steel with stay-cool black handle and feet, the 60-Cup Commercial Coffee Urn is well suited to any type of gathering, whether it's for business or pleasure.
Clearly marked volume measurement lines can be read from inside or outside the canister. A dripless toggle faucet is positioned so that almost every last drop will pour out--no waste. In addition to brewing coffee, it can heat water for instant beverages or tea. To reheat cold coffee or other beverages by remove basket and filter, refill canister at least up to the 12-cup mark, and plug the unit in; the green "ready" light will come on when it's been reheated.
Cleaning the coffee maker is important for consistent coffee quality. Wash basket, stem, and cover in hot soapy water, then rinse and dry completely. Coffee stains can be removed by using a non-abrasive cleanser. Do not wash the parts in dishwasher; it may discolor them. Clean outside of unit with a soft cloth or sponge. Clean the inner heating well by using the metal cleaning tool provided with a scouring pad. The coffee maker measures 12 by 16 inches (including lid and handles). It includes a one-year West Bend warranty against defects and comes with a detailed booklet of instructions and tips. --Garland Withers
