Customer Review: A Good Oven with Poor Controls

This West Bend rotisserie oven is sturdy, well-built, and attractive, but the mechanical controls are a problem.
The old-fashioned mechanical timer is hard to read and inaccurate for times less than 10 minutes. If you want to cook for less than 15 minutes, you must turn the knob past 15 minutes to power the off-switch and bell, then turn the knob back to the desired time. There is no "Turn past 15" instruction on the face of the timer. The timer can only be set up to one hour. For longer cooking times, the timer must be reset one or more times during cooking.
Also, the temperature sensor is 75 degrees low, so a 500 degree (max) setting is needed to cook an item at 425 degrees, and that is the highest temperature my oven can attain.
Having said that, the oven recently cooked a 7-1/3 pound turkey breast to perfection in three hours without the rotisserie, but I did have to reset the one-hour timer twice. It also does a good job on frozen pizza. But roasting nuts on a pan showed that the temperatures across the pan are uneven in spite of the convection feature.
