I only ever toast bagels so it's perfect for that ... can't relate to the person that says the bread sticks out the top. I love the toaster but it did come to me in a non-working condition. It took about 20 tries to finally get it to work. Then after 2 months, it stopped working again. Amazon wouldn't take it back so I contacted Focus Electronics (the company that makes it) and their customer service was wonderful. Emailed a copy of the receipt and they sent a new one in 3 days, no questions asked! New one worked on the first try and has been working ever since.
